Roger Salisbury Butler Clough

Grave spotlight this month is the death of Roger Salisbury Butler Clough who is buried at Christ Church Cemetery in Russell. As per Papers Past this is the information I've found of him (no photo):

The flags at Russell are flying half mast high, Mr Clough late agent of the Bank of New Zealand in Tauranga, son of Rev Alfred Butler Clough (Rector of Braunston, Northamptonshire), had to be landed here being too ill to proceed to Sydney died last night aged 37. (Auckland Star, Volume XX, Issue 4066, 28th July 1883.

What he died of and why he was on his way to Sydney, Australia is anyone's guess. The mystery remains...
