Timoti Puhipi
Timoti was born in Te Rarawa in 1830 was baptised at 10 years old. He witnessed many tribal disturbances in particular one at Oruru when the Tarawara and Ngapuhi became embroiled in warfare with each other. He was appointed as a Native Assessor but resigned in 1888 when he stood for a candidate for the Northern Maori electorate in the House of Representatives but was unsuccessful.

He died in 1910 aged 80 and is buried in the Te Rangihaukaha Urupa in Kaitaia.
