This kuia belongs to the MacKen whanau of Northland and is laid to rest at Te Rewa Wahitapu near Te Paa A Parore Marae.

This photo was taken back in the days when digging for Kauri gum was a popular and lucrative business at Waipapakauri. She was married to Fitzpatrick MacKen who served in the 20th Maori Battalion Coy A.
