The Paihia Williams Library

The Paihia Library is located in the beautiful Bay of Islands, and serves a population of about 4000 permanent residents. The library is housed near the bay in an early  20th century building that belonged to the Williams (Henry Williams, missionary) family, and which is an important site in early Bay of Islands' history.

Wiliams House is situated next to the village green in large grounds that also incorporate the community garden and The Shed. The Shed is a restoration of the Williams garden shed which is free to view and contains implements the family used as early pioneers.

I love grand, very high, round libraries like Melbourne's, but they are intimidating. Yours looks more on a human scale.
